bitch - ville: derived from the French word crazy, meaning me.
Eloquent shadows made from recycled newspapers by Spanish architectural collective Meva.
First, they folded hundreds of old newspaper pages into windmills. Next, the windmills were hung up on nylon mesh to create suspended sculptures. This simple act provided shade to anyone who happened to pass by.
“The windmills are organized to provide shadow with a simple changing pattern,” says Meva. “Each of them rotates and balances on its own to the rhythm of the gentle summer breeze.”
The project itself was undertaken after the London Municipal center found that 100 extra tons of paper waste are created by newspapers.
